Other nations DO NOT micromanage citizens to the point we do here in the US. Sick people DO get sedatives in other countries. The idiotic over control of sedatives in the US is exactly the same as when our self righteousness led us to try to ban alcohol during Prohibition! Other nations thought we were insane, and we were to try that. Likewise extremely stressed angry patients are prescribed sedatives to help them in other countries and if someone occasionally commits suicide, well that's a lot better than mass murder and suicide! And too, our (in essence) ban on opiods leads many people to accidental overdoses because they buy illegal street drugs and don't know what they are really getting.
