FREE C-SPAN!

During these trying times I suggest that C-Span coverage of the US House and Senate should be made available, free of charge, to all American households (C-Span #1 and #2).
Cable companies fund C-Span, perhaps they could do this unilaterally. They could also work with C-Span to make these channels available at no charge to all internet users.
This global pandemic has literally driven us apart and isolated us. I can think of nothing more nourishing to the soul of our fractured society than to be able to universally join in, all together and observe our elected representatives fighting this virus that threatens us all.

Like many others I can’t afford everything I would like with my cable subscription. Right now, the most important conversation in my lifetime is taking place on the floor of the Senate and it really hurts to see this message…

Covid Lessons

Together we rise together we fall.

It is not possible for an individual person (or society) to improve their own quality of life without also helping others. Because any of our problems become all of our problems eventually. If those who succeed don’t reach back and bring the rest along then the ones left behind will inevitably be an anchor on progress for all.
That is what we see now with this virus. We gave China the right to produce everything for us, but we paid no attention to the health and welfare of the Chinese people and their disease became ours.

Will things ever be the same again? Hopefully not, because we’ve been doing some things wrong to get to the point we’re at.
We need to pay more to all workers in all countries so that they can afford to live healthier happier lives with more free speech to improve the public health of the entire planet. This problem could have EASILY BEEN AVOIDED if the USA and all nations had been investing far more in the working class including healthcare so that viruses like these are discovered immediately instead of eventually.

This is literally ‘not rocket science’. More money spent on global healthcare could have led to the discovery and halt of this virus drastically earlier.

Trump says "No one knew this could happen" Correction: Every Scientist on Earth knew.

Trump slashed CDC funding. Many countries (including South Korea) are succeeding at stopping this pandemic far better than the US and they all invest far more per capita in healthcare and research than the US.
Trump has us at the bottom of all countries (with Italy and Iran) in losing control of Covid.

The Trump Virus

Globally, viruses occur with annual frequency. Viruses initiate in unpredictable locations all over the planet. Especially in the modern world of global interrelated manufacturing supply chains we are all vulnerable.
What the USA needs (and all nations need) is political leadership that prepares us for potential viral
outbreaks ahead of time, as best we can. Donald Trump has ‘unprepared’ the USA for the
COVID VIRUS.
First, his primary goal as president has been to attempt to destroy the Affordable Care Act
which we need now more than ever.
Second, he deleted our Emergency Pandemic Response team in favor of throwing money
at some mythical sci-fi, logo only ‘Space Force’.
Third, in his trade battles with China, Trump only succeeded in decimating the US Agricultural Industry
(by paying them to not produce) and he hasn’t managed to bring any manufacturing back to the US.
China is our main trading partner. We pay them to make most of what we own.
According to President Trump, China owns the Covid even though we paid for it. In essence.
Under the ‘shrink and destroy’ vision of the role of government Mr. Trump embodies, in his words
in a recent statement...
-I'm a businessman. I don't like people sitting around. Let them go and hire them back when you
need them-
That doesn’t work with viruses, or wars or bad weather tragedies…
or as a way to lead a great nation?

We Need Both

We need capitalism to create wealth and socialism to share it.
Without wealth and the ability to increase it we don't have the capability to make our lives significantly better in a concrete way.
Without socialism society doesn't benefit from greater creation of societal wealth through capitalism, only a few benefit.
We Need Both
We have wavered back and forth as a nation and now we’ve gone too far to the right.
We’d certainly have a healthier happier country today if we had ‘socialistically’ invested far more into healthcare and scientific research.
This is a lesson that the USA and the world as a whole has learned in the past, but forgotten in the present.
Now we must learn again.

Worst government in the history of the United States of America.

Today's conservative leaders (Limbaugh Hannity Trump Etc.) despise government and they want to weaken it and shrink it as much as possible. The result is today we have the worst government in the history of the United States of America.
